Develop your skills as a youth leader and contribute to environmental construction and conservation.

Experiencia Ambientalia is a program designed to promote conservation and sustainable development in the Mar Chiquita wetland in Córdoba, Argentina. We focus on addressing the main threats facing this ecosystem, promoting innovative and long-term sustainable solutions.

The cornerstone of our initiative is the empowerment of young local leaders, who receive training and tools to design and implement projects with a real impact on the community and the ecosystem. These initiatives not only strengthen the region's existing capacity but also encourage active community participation, promoting a culture of conservation and environmental stewardship.

Furthermore, our work is carried out in close collaboration with other Western Hemisphere Shorebird Reserve Network (WHSRN) sites throughout the Americas. Through the exchange of experiences, knowledge, and best practices, we seek to strengthen joint efforts to improve the management and protection of wetlands in different regions.

Our goal is to generate a positive and lasting impact, ensuring that Mar Chiquita and other wetlands remain key spaces for biodiversity and the well-being of local communities.

How does the program work?

Experiencia Ambientalia is a mixed-mode, multiplatform program. It will include in-person meetings, synchronous virtual meetings, and asynchronous interactions using platforms such as WhatsApp, YouTube, Moodle, and others.

Training for teachers

Training consisting of virtual meetings and a face-to-face meeting for the program's tutor teachers who will accompany the adolescents throughout their journey through the program. The objective is that teachers and educators can fully understand the purpose and mechanics of the program, that a network of colleagues is formed (community of learning) and provide them with value in a personalized way, based on their needs.

Project stage

Participants will be able to select which type of project they want to carry out, among the themes of entrepreneurship, conservation and research. Each team will select an area of work and will receive a total of six classes recorded via YouTube. In the different classes, the participants will receive the necessary tools to gradually build their project. At the end of each class they will have to submit a challenge, which will allow them to earn a place for their team in the different field trips proposed by the program. The whole process will end in an exciting on-site Project Fair.

Environmental Leaders Forum

The participants who have obtained the best scores in the program may apply for a full scholarship to the Environmental Leaders Forum, an event in Miramar de Ansenuza, where they will be trained by environmental leaders.
